Winnipeg — May 15 th , 2018 — The founders of Sycamore Energy are proud to be nominated as a finalist for one of Canada’s most prestigious business awards.
The EY Entrepreneur of The Year Awards recognize the achievements of Canada’s entrepreneurial
trailblazers, and Sycamore Energy founders Justin Phillips and Alex Stuart are among the nominees in
Manitoba for 2018.
Sycamore Energy has experienced exponential growth in the last few years and is now Manitoba’s
leading solar energy provider, with the largest in-house solar installation capacity in the province.
“This nomination recognizes how far we’ve come as a company,” says Justin Phillips, Sycamore Energy’s Co-Founder & CEO. “Win or lose, this shows that Sycamore Energy belongs among the best in the business community.”

Phillips and Stuart collaborated on their first sustainable energy business, Global Wind Group, starting in 2008. That journey included a pitch on CBC’s Dragon’s Den program and a later decision to shift their focus to solar power.
Phillips and Stuart founded Sycamore Energy in 2012; the company’s divisions include Solar Manitoba
and Sycamore Electric.
